Abu Dhabi Reem Island is a UAE development that has grown to include more than 100 high-rise towers with a million-plus square meters (yd²) of office, retail, and community space. In 2011, two out of four proposed district cooling plants had been built, but their associated towers had not yet been completed. The customer therefore needed a two-year mothballing solution and adopted Cortec® VpCI®-649 BD for wet layup. This provided the long-term corrosion protection required and also helped minimize costs.
